Brackets have been released for this weekend's Harley Steel Tournament at Third Base Sports Park in Cedar Rapids.
The Warriors will open against the Prairie Hawks Black at 9 a.m. Saturday on diamond 2. The Hawks prevailed 9-3 on May 2 in their only prior meeting this season.
At 2:15 also on diamond 2, the Warriors face the Lightning. It's not clear if this is the Linn-Mar variety or the Lightning from Eldridge.
Sunday's schedule won't be known until the conclusion of Saturday's games. Players are to gather at McKinley at 7:45 a.m. Saturday for batting practice.

Warriors fall in extra innings
Maybe the boys thought Cinco de Mayo means extra innings. Maybe they haven't had enough baseball with seven games in five days, plus the high school 100-inning fundraiser. Whatever the reason, baseball in all its glory was on display Monday night at McKinley Field.
Hot dogs, sunflower seeds and Gatorade were available in the concession stand. Weather conditions were ideal. Junior Warrior president Sam Burdt was on hand as his son Noah filled in admirably for a missing player and even ascended a ladder to retrieve a foul ball. And the Warriors looked like a well-oiled machine while battling Swisher Swat for eight innings.
The Swat prevailed 2-1, scoring with none out in the bottom of the eighth. The Warriors outhit the Swat 5-3 and committed just two errors to Swisher's three, but a fifth-inning error at third base proved costly.
Leading 1-0 at the time, on the strength of an RBI single by Zach Zingula that would have scored two if not for a stellar throw from center fielder Trenton Schulte, the Swat pushed across a run after stranding runners at third for three straight innings.
That ended the scoring until the Swat ended the game in the eighth. The only alternative would have been a tie, and we all know there's no tieing in baseball.
The Warriors fall to 7-8 on the year heading into this weekend's Harley Steele Tournament in Cedar Rapids. The Warriors return home May 14 for a 6 p.m. game with the Angels. Practice is scheduled for Thursday night at McKinley. Hotel information has been distributed for the Memorial Day weekend tournament in Des Moines.

Nearly perfect baseball on a nearly perfect day
The Warriors split a doubleheader Sunday with the Clear Creek Amana Clippers, playing nearly flawless baseball on a nearly flawless day.
Leading 4-1 after three innings in game one, the Warriors surrendered three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to fall 8-4. Despite committing just one error -- to the Clippers' four -- and a slight hitting advantage, Warrior pitchers issued 12 walks compared to just two by the Clippers. Dalton Weems took the loss in relief of Mitch Blades.
In game two, the Warriors had their second error-free game of the year -- the first since the season opener against Marion -- and rolled to an 8-2 victory. Ryan Niemeyer picked up the win and Robert Hogg had a monster game with two hits, two runs, three RBIs and four stolen bases.
The Warriors stand at 3-3 on the current home stand with Swisher Swat coming to town for a 6 p.m. game Monday. That will be the seventh game in five days leading up to the Harley Steele tournament in Cedar Rapids for Mother's Day weekend.
